Research shows that over 90% of strategy-implementation initiatives fail to deliver value to customers, financial returns to shareholders, and overwhelm employees. They create more work on top of daily work, i.e., the main job an employee was hired to do. The reason is that legacy strategy implementation relies on strategy initiatives, outcome metrics, and employee performance management. They tend to be rooted in fiction than science. This talk will illustrate science-driven strategy implementation with examples of companies that succeeded with it.
